Over 400 exhibiting companies make the Southern Farm Show the largest agricultural exposition in the Carolinas and Virginia. A tradition at the NC State Fairgrounds each February, the show hosts key industry events, and is known as the region’s annual meeting place for farmers and agricultural leaders. Free admission and parking make the show a can’t-miss for farmers, as well as allied professionals including landscapers and excavation contractors.
We were there!
Carport Central has now registered its presence in this prestigious event two years in a row. We are nation’s largest online dealer of metal buildings and just like last year, we wanted to meet and greet with people, make some new friends, tell them about the technological evolution in the metal building industry and help them choose storage solutions for their agricultural and farming needs.
Our team was there from Wednesday, January 31st, 2018- Friday to February 2nd, 2018 at the NC Fairgrounds. The show started at 07:15 am with the ‘wake country agribusiness breakfast’ and joining us were our Building Specialists from back home. We had Tommy Williams, Kimberly Mchone, Woodie Valentine, and Jesus Garcia to help people with their storage needs and offering the best solutions at the most reasonable prices.
As we partner with all the main manufacturers in the metal buildings industry, decided to walk the proverbial extra mile to fulfill the visitors’ requirements by offering them all the custom options from different sizes, type, roof, lean-tos, certification as per the weather conditions, gauge to colors, wainscot, insulation and many other extra components.
Southern Farm Show 2018 Happenings:
During the event, we met new people, made new friends, and educated the visitors on their requirements and the possible solutions.
Carport Central prides in educating its prospective customers before they go ahead and buy from us. Hence, our building specialists spoke to the farm owners, farmers, equipment designers, and cattle ranchers in depth about their needs. We also showed a ton of examples of the farm buildings that we have set up on our customers’ lots in the recent past. Our Facebook page is filled up to the brim with activity and many of the visitors instantly subscribed to our page to remain abreast with all what Carport Central can do for them.

We even put up a demo building which was a step-down barn with lean-tos attached to it. The visitors were surprised and happy to see, feel, and touch what their metal building will look like, once it gets installed.
We built relationships, educated people about our buildings, rent to own program, financing options and we had fun while doing it. The weather was cold, but everyone seemed like they had a great time.
Exhibitors and Events:
Some of the well-known names in the agricultural business of America were there to present and participate at the SFS 2018. Companies such as Landoll Corporation, Mahindra USA, Marco Manufacturing, Kuhn’s Manufacturing among others exhibited in the Southern Farm Show 2018.
The annual 13th Agricultural development forum, sponsored by the NCAG (North Carolina Agribusiness Council Members) and lead by the featured speakers, including Dr. Michael L. Walden, Dr. Blake Brown and Mr. Randy Russell discussed on topics related to agricultural economics and trade.
The Final event of the Southern Farm Show 2018:
The Southern Farm Show closed on Friday after the grand finale ‘Future Farmers of America Tractor & Truck Driving Competition’ featuring teams from all over the Carolina and Virginia. This event was the highlight of 41st Southern Farm Show 2018. The finals of this Contest are all held in the series annually.
Another event, which attracted spectators was the ‘Southern National Draft Horse Pull’ running from the last 34 years and giant draft horse’s team competing for the prize money which was a show-stopping event.
