Top Universities in the USA 2019

For yet another year, US universities dominate the QS World University Rankings, with 157 US institutions of higher learning ranked in the 2019 edition. Many of these American schools can be found at the very top of the global chart, with the top four universities remaining unchanged since last year.

Below are a few interesting facts about some of America’s elite universities:

• The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has been crowned the best university in the world for a record-breaking seventh consecutive year; MIT scored a perfect 100 on four of the six indicators used to compile the ranking.
• Stanford continues to hold its position at #2, and its alumni are essentially a Who’s Who of business leaders and entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and beyond.
• Harvard also continues to hang tough at #3 – not too shabby for the oldest institution of higher education in the United States (founded way back in 1636).
• #4 belongs to the California Institute of Technology. Caltech (as it’s better known) makes its home in beautiful Pasadena, approximately 11 miles northeast of L.A.
• The University of Chicago rounds out the top 5 for the 2019 rankings. Situated in the Hyde Park area, UChicago offers a rich campus life within a big-city setting.
