Carport Central Partners With WSSU Marketing Majors To Share Some “Real World” Business Knowledge

As you may have noticed in our recent blogs and posts, Carport Central enjoys connecting with local middle schools and high schools. Over the past few months we’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to partner with a team of senior marketing majors from Winston-Salem State University. We’ve paid a couple of visits to their marketing classroom (aided by the leadership of Dr. Alyssa J Reynolds, Assistant Professor of Management & Marketing) on the WSSU campus in Winston-Salem, NC, and the student team has returned the favor by coming to see us twice at our Carport Central home base in Mount Airy, NC.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our time together with this bright group, and the result has been a truly mutually-beneficial relationship. We’ve tried to make our business very transparent to these students, openly sharing how Carport Central approaches marketing, how we prioritize customer experience and customer service, how we adhere to ethical business practices, how we give back to the community, and how we work to maintain a healthy company culture. Hopefully our visits and conversations have provided some good “real world” business insights for these senior marketing majors.

We didn’t do all the giving, though; these students have given back to us, as well. As part of their final marketing class project, these students worked to create a 60-second video “commercial” featuring Carport Central. We think they did a pretty outstanding job, and we’re proud to share the fruit of their efforts with you below, along with some snapshots that capture a bit of our time together.
